Elon Musk’s dramatic decision to rebrand Twitter to the rather cryptic-sounding ‘X’ earlier this week sent the internet into complete meltdown.
Was this a joke? Yet another publicity stunt? Apparently not. After months of incessant turbulence over at the iconic social media network, has Musk’s bizarre left-field decision signed Twitter’s death-warrant as a viable platform for advertisers and casual users?
Only time will tell. What we do know is that brands have been having an absolute field day with the rebrand, unleashing a plethora of memes onto an all-too-eagerly awaiting Twitter-sphere (or should we say X-sphere now?)
