ITVX hits one billion streams, overtaking Disney+ and All4

ITV has announced that its streaming service ITVX officially hit the one billion streams mark on Easter Sunday 2023 (9 April).

The news comes just over four months after the broadcaster launched the service on 8 December.

According to ITV, ITVX’s consideration and awareness scores have risen ‘strongly’ since its launch, with recently reported data from YouGov’s BrandIndex tool revealing that ITVX has now overtaken All4 and Disney+ in terms of consideration. The platform is now the UK’s fourth most considered streaming service behind Netflix, BBC iPlayer and Amazon Prime Video.

ITVX prides itself in being the ‘first streaming service in the UK’ to offer viewers the flexibility to access free content with ads and ad-free paid subscription, ‘all in one place’.

Exclusive ITVX dramas ‘The Twelve’, ‘Without Sin’ and ‘A Spy Among Friends’ have been the top performing ITVX premieres in the four month period since its launch, with these shows reportedly attracting harder to reach audiences to the streaming service. Of the audiences who have watched ITVX premieres, including titles like Nolly and Litvinenko, 80% have gone on to watch other content on ITVX.

Love Island has also been a ‘strong driver’ of streaming and is the most watched programme on ITVX this year with regards to streams.

Streams of sporting events including 6 Nations Rugby and the FA Cup have also pulled in strong livestream audiences in 2023 according to ITV.
