Tesco has partnered with Vauxhall to advertise its electric vehicles through the use of the supermarket’s digital screens, as well as its social media and digital channels.

The new media partnership will see Vauxhall promotions at Tesco car parks and across charging units with integrated media screens, with Vauxhall car users offered 12 months free EV credit.

The deal will cover 2,700 charging bays across 619 stores nationwide, with all charging bays updated with a Vauxhall and Tesco co-branded livery.

The retailer is equipped to show animated content and visuals on charging points with integrated media screens.

It comes as the supermarket ramps up its retail media offering, having installed its 1,800th advertising screen in November, up from 400 in March 2023.

Other supermarkets including Sainsbury’s and Argos have also upped their retail media offering with Nectar 360 partnering with The Trade Desk to enable brands to curate targeted retail media campaigns across the open internet.

Asda has also expanded its retail media network across the UK.

Tesco Media & Insight platform media strategy director Simon Lonsdale said: “What retail media can offer brands is truly unique and we’re delighted to partner with Vauxhall to help them deliver the right advertising to the right customers in a strategic way.”

“Tesco has the largest network of EV charge points of all UK retailers and so its a perfect fit to support Vauxhall with their ambition to make electric vehicles more accessible.”
