Watch: Easyjet hosts sequin heavy Eurovision party with Drag Race’s Tia Kofi

Easyjet held a special flight filled with sequin clad Eurovision fans, taking off from London Gatwick it sprinkled sparkles as it touched down at Copenhagen airport.

With the support of agencies Dept and T&Pm, the flight took off on Bank Holiday Monday ahead of the Eurovision semi finals, as part of easyJet’s “Get Out There” brand platform.

Featuring themed baggage drop, fancy dress and a talent show held at 40,000 feet hosted by Drag Race star Tia Kofi, the flight took place to mark the contest’s semi finals.

The flight, which comes as part of easyJet’s role as official airline of the Eurovision song contest, played host to fans from General Organisation of Eurovision Fans, as well as celebrity and influencer mega-fans.

Three performers, all of whom are easyJet performers, battled it out to take home the ‘Sky High Talent Show’ trophy.

In addition, easyJet has created its very own Sky High dive experience in which fans can dive into a pit of foam, to have a chance to win tickets to the Grand Final on 11 May.

easyJet has also teamed up with pop icons Scooch and Olivier award-winning comedian and songwriter Vikki Stone to create the ultimate Eurovision hype track.

Further Eurovision celebrations also took place on board easyJet flights to Copenhagen for passengers travelling on afternoon and evening flights from Paris and Milan yesterday (8 May).

It sees Scooch reunite in homage to their infamous 2007 UK entry, decked out in new orange cabin crew uniforms and performing some very important duties on their flight to Eurovision 2024.

The campaign will be promoted across all social channels over the course of the week until this year’s winner is crowned at the Grand Final in Malmö  on the evening of 11 May.

Dept editorial director Angharad Salazar Llewellyn said: “It seemed like a wild idea, but bringing Eurovision pop royalty Scooch back together to sing the catchiest song of the year also reflects easyJet’s sponsorship of Eurovision Song Contest.”

“Key themes like bringing the whole of Europe together, a celebration of music and the campaign line – It’s Your Show, Get Out There – have been made possible through the power of pop music, and an iconic orange plane”.

T&Pm chief client and growth officer Aaron Quirk added: “What could be more ‘It’s Your Show, Get Out There’ than three in-flight talent shows followed by a chance to stage dive in slow-motion at the iconic Eurovision fan village in Malmo?!”
