Ogilvy wins five awards on opening day of Cannes Festival

Ogilvy has won five ‘Gold Lions’ on the opening day of the 2022 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

The five-day-long award ceremony is self-proclaimed as the largest gathering in the creative marketing community.

The agency’s five Gold Lion awards came across the ‘Outdoor’, ‘Print & Publishing’, and ‘Health & Wellness’ categories.

The news comes on the same day that McCann celebrate the Cannes Lions festival by creating a Web3 experience called ‘MWverse’ that showcases the agency’s most recent campaigns virtually.

Oglivy’s global Unilever team earned Gold in the ‘Print & Publishing – Corporate Purpose & Social Responsibility’ category for its ‘Reverse Selfie’ campaign with Dove.

The three Gold awards in outdoor categories included the ‘Flags of Generosity’ campaign for Cadbury, the ‘Scratch Boards’ campaign for Activision Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and ‘The Art of Self-Examination’ campaign for MACMA.

The last Gold Lion awarded to Oglivy was for its ‘Morning After Island’ health and non-profit campaign for Grupo Estratégico PA.

The agency also won five silver and 12 bronze Lions, totalling 22 awards on the whole.

“Winning Gold at Cannes Lions is an incredible achievement, and I’m so proud of our five teams across the network for this well-earned recognition,” Ogilvy global chief creative officer Liz Taylor said.

“Our Lions across the board represent the strength of Ogilvy’s global creative network, as we were recognised for work created at all corners of the globe. These campaigns are indicative of the power of Ogilvy’s border-less creativity and our ability to generate big ideas that create impact alongside our valued clients.”
