World Federation of Advertisers unveils new global leadership team

The World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) has announced its new leadership team, with various senior appointments being made from national advertiser associations and leading global brands.

From 5 April new regional vice presidents will represent the organisation for Europe, Africa and Asia.

The moves come in preparation for Global Marketer Week.

The new appointees will join the current representatives for the Middle East, Latin America and North America and aim to provide regional insight and support to the organisation.

Rupen Desai, global CMO of Dole Sunshine Company, will become the regional vice president for Asia.

Aude Gandon, senior vice president and global chief marketing and digital officer, for Nestlé, will be named regional vice president for Europe.

Osamede Uwubanmwen, president of the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), will also take the role of regional vice president for Africa.

Mastercard’s Raja Rajamannar is set to continue as president having been re-elected for a further two-year term in 2021. Conny Braams, Unilever’s chief digital and marketing officer, will also remain deputy president.

Alongside the new VPs a series of senior executives from Bank of Africa, Danone, Ferrero, Grab, L’Oréal and Mars. The other new corporate members include Mounir Jazouli, communication, media and digital director at the Bank of Africa, Danone’s global head of media Catherine Lautier and L’Oreal’s chief digital and marketing officer Asmita Dubey.

The vice president of institutional relations and group public policy centre or FMCG giant Ferrero, Francesco Tramontin is also on the list, being joined by Cheryl Goh, group VP of marketing and sustainability of Grab and Mars’ vice president of global public affairs and external communications, Anders Bering.

BvA managing director Henriette van Swinderen also joins the leadership team.

“At the heart of the WFA is our peer-to-peer network of excellence,” WFA CEO Stephan Loerke said.

“It’s a tribute to the power of our network that so many of the world’s leading marketers are willing to give up their time to help us deliver more for the industry, consumers and society.”

Conny Braams, Rupen Desai and Raja Rajammanar are set to speak at the Global Marketer Conference in Athens on 7 April.
