VML UK appoints new CSO following merger

Ben Worden, Wunderman Thompson UK’s former head of planning has been appointed as VML UK chief strategy officer.

The newly merged agency formed when VMLY&R and Wunderman Thompson joined forces in October last year.

The move brought together 30,000 employees across 64 markets in order to create what owner WPP said would be the industry’s largest creative company.

As reported by Campaign magazine, a note from UK chief executive Pip Hulbert last week revealed that VMLY&R former CSO Anna Vogt has become VML EMEA chief strategy officer.

Hulbert, who was formerly Wunderman Thompson CEO was appointed in November last year.

Other announcements in the note from Hulbert included that Kate Nettleton, former VMLY&R UK head of planning has been named VML UK head of strategy.

According to Campaign magazine In her email she congratulated Vogt for a “huge contribution” to winning clients and said Worden and Nettleton would “make a great team”.

She also expressed that she was “looking forward” to working with the EMEA team.

In a LinkedIn post Worden said he was “excited” to take on the role.

The agency secured the Krispy Kreme account in December last year, which marked its first major business win.
