Simply Be gets ‘Serious About Shape’ with Manchester’s largest ever mural

Inclusive fashion brand Simply Be is raising awareness of its ‘Serious About Shape’ messaging by unveiling the largest ever mural erected in Manchester.

Launched in the brand’s hometown, the mural encourages women of all sizes to find clothes that are tailor-made to fit them and not force themselves to fit in unrealistic industry-standard sizes.

The two 36ft murals span a total of 297sq metres, making in one of the UK’s largest out-of-home canvas, and the largest yet seen in Manchester.

Created by Mural Republic Ltd and Kinetic, the mural looks to highlight Simply Be’s core brand purpose – which is that every woman should be able to find clothes that are the right fit. Clothes should be made to fit the wearer, not the other way around.

“As women, it is so important to find the right fit for your unique body shape,” Simply Be head of marketing, Sinead Donohoe, said.

“The murals in Manchester are really impactful and represent our aim for change as inconsistent sizing and badly fitting fashion are just not acceptable. We hope they inspire women and encourage them to blame the clothing, not themselves.”

The creative is centred around an image of five women of different shapes all wearing a variation of the same pair of jeans, perfectly tailored to them.

Situated on Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter and painted by six artists over a five-day period using over 100 cans of paint, the mural will be in place until 30 July.
