EasyJet teams up with Spotify to recommend holidays based on music taste

EasyJet has partnered with Spotify to create ‘Listen & Book’, a platform that will match holidays to the music tastes of people looking to get away this summer.

The tailored travel experience will recommend specific destinations by pairing consumers’ playlists on the music app with ‘holiday moods’.

Song attributes like tempo, energy and positivity will be analysed to determine these ‘moods’ created by Spotify and EasyJet.

Experiences and local gigs will also be suggested to holiday goers.

The news comes a week after the low-cost airline named Robert Birge as its new chief customer and marketing officer.

To access the ‘Listen & Book’ recommendations, users will have to connect their Spotify accounts to a dedicated micro-site that will then display a list of specific holiday deals across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

The campaign is the latest iteration of the airline’s ‘nextGen EasyJet’ brand platform which launched earlier this year.

“Listen & Book will help our customers discover new destinations across our European network, using Spotify’s innovative technology to enhance our customer search and booking experience,” EasyJet customer and marketing director Richard Sherwood said.

“This collaboration is the perfect fit for our ‘nextGen easyJet,’ brand strategy, with the ambition to pioneer the next generation of travel for all, connecting customers to the people they love, new and diverse cultures and unforgettable experiences.”

The partnership will also be supported by VCCP-led marketing campaigns rolling out in the UK, France, Italy and Switzerland imminently.
