EasyJet appoints Asos’ Robert Birge as its new marketing lead

Low-cost airline EasyJet has named Robert Birge as its new chief customer and marketing officer, Birge will leave his current role as chief customer officer at Asos later this month.

The newly created position will bring together aspects of marketing, digital and customer service, alongside customer experience and insight.

Having built up over 30 years’ experience in the sector, Birge initially joined the online fashion and cosmetics retailer in 2019 as chief growth officer before being made chief customer officer earlier this year.

Prior to joining Asos, Birge also held senior marketing roles with entertainment firm IMG and online travel agency Kayak, both in the US.

“Robert brings with him a wealth of experience from a range of travel and consumer brands,” EasyJet CEO, Johan Lundgren said.

“Continually innovating how we deliver our unique easyJet customer experience is a key focus area for the airline and so we look forward to welcoming Robert to the airline later this month.”

Birge added: “EasyJet is an iconic brand in travel, having long pioneered making the promise of travel more affordable and easier.
