Brands react to Boris Johnson quitting as PM on Twitter

Boris Johnson has quit as Conservative leader following discoveries made about his handling of sexual misconduct allegations that caused many of his peers to resign from their positions.

Several brands have been reacting to the news via Twitter.

Before the PM announced his resignation, supermarket chain Iceland chimed in by writing: “Having trouble keeping your cabinet full?”

Once Brewdog heard the news the brand questioned whether it was “too early to start prepping for the leaving party”, teasing a new line of exclusive beers.

Ryanair, who have also been taking TikTok meme culture by storm lately, posted a video of US singer Usher dancing to music.

Greeting cards marketplace Thortful decided the news provided ample opportunity to promote their leaving cards.

Paddy Power, who recently had one of its ads banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), wrote:

“BREAKING: Boris Johnson is currently in Number 10, putting his finger to Nadine Dorries’ head and saying “I’ll be right here” like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. More to follow.”
