Iconic Swedish furniture retailer Ikea has released a series of social media-first films to celebrate the impending arrival of its new click-and-collect service.
The series of short clips humorously anthropomorphise Ikea store’s with googly eyes and walking on spindly legs, to show how the retailer is now ‘closer than you think’.
Developed by London-based creative agency Mother, the made-for-social content appears entirely in phone-friendly portrait format and emphasises how using Ikea is now ‘easier than ever’.

Directed by Matte Cooper, the clips use a scaled live-action puppet to mimic the low-budget look of classic B movies, embedding the action into real-life locations.
Running primarily across Meta-owned platforms, the films will be supported by further messaging that directs customers to their closest Ikea store.
The work follows on from the retailer’s recent global campaign ‘Try this at home’ by McCann Spain in which the retailer showcases the extensive versatility of its range.
