M&C Saatchi and Saatchi Gallery invite artists to envision a better future

M&C Saatchi and the iconic Saatchi Gallery have opened entries for the third edition of their global Art for Change prize, inviting emerging artists to create visions of a better future.

This year’s theme for the contest – which has a total prize fund of £20,000 – is ‘Tomorrow’ing: visions for a better future’, and invites artists to tackle some of the most pressing issues on the planet in 2024.

The free-to-enter contest was first launched in 2022 in response to worldwide cuts to arts funding. It aims to make culture, art and creativity accessible to everyone, highlighting the visual arts as a medium for positive global and social change.

The top prize is worth £10,000, while five other regional winners will receive £2,000 each, with all winners to exhibit their work at Saatchi Gallery.

“Each year we invite artists to help us understand ourselves and show us a way forward. Each year we’re amazed at the submissions we receive and the talent that graces our exhibition space,” said Saatchi gallery director Paul Foster.

M&C Saatchi UK non-exec chair Richard Thompson commented: “At M&C Saatchi Group we’re dedicated to fostering the future of creativity. Our partnership with Saatchi Gallery strives to deepen access to the arts and provide meaningful support to the artists of tomorrow.”

“The Art for Change Prize is about driving positive societal change, fuelled by our vision for a better future and a our belief in the power of creativity to change the world.”
