A new campaign from Argos stars the retailer’s iconic brand mascots, Connie and Trevor, as they come together once more to showcase the breadth of the retailer’s offering.

Launching across TV, OOH, social and radio on 10 May, the 30-second hero film – created by agency of record The&Partnership – centres on a mystery chef creating a culinary masterpiece, set to the iconic Kill Bill track ‘Battle Without Honor Or Humanity’.

As the ad progresses, the chef being inspired by the high-end kitchen equipment is revealed to be Trevor, getting lost in the moment as he pulls out all the stops to create his signature dish of sausage and beans, which he presents to a bewildered Connie with a flourish (and a generous squirt of ketchup).

The story continues to build on Argos’s established brand platform – ‘There’s More To Argos’ – which launched last year, positioning the retailer as the place to shop for quality and style, as well as great value.

Developed by T&Pm, the latest film was directed by AirCastle and animated by ETC, with the characters
once again voiced by People Just Do Nothing’s Ruth Bratt and This Country’s Charlie Cooper.

The&Partnership group creative directors Matt Moreland and Chris Clarke said: “At the heart of this campaign is a lovely human truth – great products can give you ideas above your station. So when it came to fancy cookware making somebody feel like a Michelin star chef, who better than Trev to create this culinary masterpiece?

“We, like Trev, are very pleased with the end result. Connie less so. AirCastle did a great job. It turned out much better than Trev’s meal.”
