The Ordinary floats giant bottle on the Thames

Cosmetics brand The Ordinary has floated a giant bottle of its flagship reformulated hyaluronic acid 2% +B5 product down the river Thames in Central London in an innovative campaign stunt.

The 12-metre installation was floated along the river on the back of a branded boat, with the creative encouraging people to question what is and isn’t ‘real’.

Developed by One Agency, the activation sailed past a range of high-profile London landmarks including Canary Wharf, The Shard and the Tower of London.

“One Agency has executed the impossible, making our creative dreams come true,” The Ordinary head of brand UK and Ireland, Bhav Rana said.

Its journey came to a close in rather extravagant fashion at Tower Bridge, which had to be lifted due to the installation’s size.

CGI work across Paris, New York, Copenhagen, Canada and Australia will also be launched to support the brand’s key creative.

One Events operations director Paul Butterworth added: “Developing unique brand experiences is what we do, and to be part of such an instantly iconic activation with The Ordinary has been a hugely fulfilling project.

“Their vision was daring, but our team was able to match that ambition and deliver something amazing. We created something incredibly memorable together and delivered a campaign that showcased the best of both brands in a truly iconic way.”
