Medialab poaches Starcom’s Jon Manning as new Director of Advanced TV

Medialab has snapped up Starcom’s Jon Manning to be its new director of Advanced TV.

Having previously been client investment director at the Publicis-owned brand, in his new capacity Manning will be responsible for helping Medialab’s clients navigate the connected television world including BVOD, SVOD and FAST.

He will help to strengthen partnerships and deliver new products and collaborations in an environment which sees over 67% of UK households owning a CTV.

Manning has prior experience working on accounts including Lidl Stellantis, Samsung and Reckit Benckiser.

He joins Medialab in the wake of the recent appointment of Jess Talbot as head of planning as well as the business’s success in gaining the Standard Life and Marie Curie accounts.

Speaking about the appointment Manning said: “I’m thrilled and incredibly excited to be joining Medialab. In what has been a tough few years for the industry, Medialab has bucked the trend, significantly growing its client, capability and talent base and has gone from strength to strength. I cannot wait to be part of that continued success story.”

“Alongside their brilliant reputation in TV, a big driving force behind that growth is Apollo, and I am looking forward to exploring the opportunities within the Advanced TV space that Apollo will enable, and drive media efficiencies and business results”.

Medialab chief executive Marcus Orme added: “Jon’s appointment is another significant milestone in Medialab’s growth throughout 2023: as part of that journey, our expert, granular and transparent TV planning and buying capabilities have gone from strength to strength and Jon’s expertise, reputation and leadership will take that to an even higher level, hand in hand with the significant TV and digital leadership already within the business”.
