Bathroom retailer Victorian Plumbing has created a miniature bee-sized bidet in a bid to raise funds to help protect British bees, in aid of World Bee Day (20 May).
In an effort to raise funds to protect British bees, the retailer has created a miniature bidet which is less than an inch long (bee-sized) and is made from a mix of ceramics, china and acrylics.
100% of the profits made from the retailer’s human-sized bidets on 20 May will go to the British Beekeepers Association to help fund its Save the Bees appeal, helping to preserve the art of beekeeping and protect the British honeybee population.
This is the second year in a row the brand has run the campaign, which comes in the wake of a January study highlighting that the global loss of pollinators has caused an estimated 500,000 early deaths by reducing the supply of healthy foods.

“Bidets for Bee Day will help raise awareness of the great work that the British Beekeepers Association are doing. Bees significantly impact our environment and ecosystem; we have a duty of care to make sure we are protecting them wherever possible,” said Victorian Plumbing chief marketing officer Joe Pascoe.
“The British Beekeepers Association feels flushed with delight that Victorian Plumbing is supporting us on International Bee Day from the sale of their bidets,” said British Bees Association trustee Clare McGettingan.
“This donation will go towards our Save the Bees appeal, helping us learn more about the threats honeybees face in our environment.”
