Fruit-tella has partnered up with agency Wavemaker to create a new Amazon Alexa interactive audio campaign titled ‘Halloween Hotel’.

In the run-up to Halloween, the skill game will provide a daily countdown of content once Amazon users say “Alexa, open Halloween Hotel.” Exclusive tricks, spooky stories, interactive games, jokes and special prizes will all be accessible via voice activation.

The Wavemaker-created campaign wishes to celebrate the spooky holiday in conjunction with the traditional consumption of sweets.

According to brand owners Perfetti Van Melle research, a third (30%) of shoppers plan to shop for themed lines up to eight weeks before Halloween.

“Halloween is one of the most iconic holidays to celebrate – if you aren’t excited in advance, you simply aren’t taking full advantage of the season,” Perfetti Van Melle brand manager for Fruit-tella, Lauren Potter, said.

“Our Fruit-tella “Halloween Hotel” campaign will help families across the country to celebrate the spooky season the way it was supposed to be enjoyed – plenty of scares, laughs, and of course, treats!”

Run by McCann, the campaign will also be promoted across Fruit-tella’s own social channels on Facebook and Instagram, with the intentions of reaching a large audience of ‘readily receptive Fruit-tella families’. Communications agency, Mercieca, will also broadcast “Halloween Hotel” to parents across the UK, through a special collaboration with Made by Mammas: The Podcast.

Wavemaker UK head of innovation Rozzi Merrington added: “We’re delighted to see this campaign come to life, especially with the jokes, interactive ideas, and even uncovering “Fruit-tell-ha-ha-ha’s spooky voice all delivered in-house. Our team is certainly in the mood for the festive season now, and we have no doubt Fruit-tella families will feel the same rush!”
