Budweiser taps Lionel Messi for World Cup prize giveaway

US beer brand Budweiser has partnered with global football superstars Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr. and Raheem Sterling to offer fans the chance to win exclusive prizes – including an all-expenses paid trip to Qatar for this year’s World Cup.

Additional prizes will include signed England Men’s and Women’s shirts, a signed Raheem Sterling England shirt, and the chance to watch a live England training session.

Launched to celebrate the start of the 100-day countdown to the start of the tournament, this latest campaign will see Budweiser “drop” a selection of hundreds of prizes around the world tomorrow (13 August.)

Fans will be able to enter by scanning Budweiser QR codes available on the brand and the players’ social media channels.

Further QR codes will be placed on Wembley Stadium and dotted around locations that have helped shaped Messi, Neymar and Sterling’s careers. Upon scanning the codes, fans will be given coordinates to find the prize boxes.

“Ever since playing my first games in Argentina, I’ve dreamt of the day that I would play in the World Cup, and now I’m so excited to help Budweiser make fans’ dreams of attending the World Cup come true.”
