Multi-brand online retailer The Very Group has appointed Jessica Myers as its new chief marketing officer, with effect from 3 October.

In her new role, Myers will lead a team of over 200 people across the group’s brand, marketing, public relations and creative operations.

Myers joins the Littlewoods owner from MetroBank, where she had worked as director of brands and marketing since November 2019.

The new role will mark Myers’ first foray into retail, having previously worked exclusively in the financial sector – amassing close to a decade of brand management experience for NatWest and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

During her time at MetroBank, Myers built and the company’s first ever brand and marketing function, coupling her day-to-day responsibilities with a spot on the firm’s executive committee. Myers also helped shape the company’s brand strategy, developing transformational marketing capabilities and brand investment.

A prominent figure in her field, Myers gained official recognition last year – being named as one of Marketing Week’s 100 most effective marketers in the UK and was also selected for a 2022 EMEA Fellowship for The Marketing Academy.

“Jessica is a thoughtful, commercial and impactful marketer and leader, with deep consumer experience,” The Very Group managing director of retail, Robbie Feather.

“She’s exactly the right person to lead our marketing team at a time when UK families are increasingly on the lookout for the convenience, flexibility and value Very provides.”

Jessica Myers “It’s a fantastic time to join Very, which has become one of the most recognisable digital retailers in the UK in recent years.

“It has a strong and differentiated brand, a hugely relevant customer proposition combining multicategory shopping with flexible ways to pay, and amazing opportunities for growth. I can’t wait to meet the team and start making a difference for Very and our customers.”
