Netflix’s Stranger Things immersive experience breaks European ground with London event

Streaming giant Netflix has partnered with events firm Fever London to create a new, immersive Stranger Things themed experience for the series’ British fans.

The show’s writers personally developed the experience’s script which will feature mock-ups of notable settings from the series alongside some of the show’s characters.

Timed to coincide with the fourth series’ release on 27 May, fans will be able to visit in-show locations such as Scoops Ahoy ice cream parlour, the Palace Arcade or even Family Video, where exclusive merchandise will be sold. Customers will also be offered a photo op with series villain the ‘demogorgon’.

The one-hour adventure will put guests to the test as they battle to escape alternate reality ‘The Upside Down’ and return to the characters’ home town of Hawkins.

Tickets for the event will be sold from tomorrow (12 May), with prices starting at £39. Tickets will grant guests access to the experience for 45 minutes, with an unlimited time in the food and beverage sections. The event itself will open its doors form August onwards.

The experience is a continuation of events held last year across the US in New York and Los Angeles. Further Stranger Things-themed events will be held across New York and San Francisco in May and June this year.

The fourth series of Stranger Things will be split into two parts, with the first volume coming out on 27 May as previously mentioned, followed by the second volume on 1 July.

“We know our Stranger Things fans will embrace the chance to be the heroes of the story, working alongside Eleven, Mike and the rest of the gang to fight the evil threatening to consume Hawkins,” Netflix head of experiences, Greg Lombardo said.

“Fans love losing themselves in the world when they watch the show. Now, for the first time, they will be able to live out an episode.”
