Google enters Formula 1 arena with McLaren Racing sponsorship

McLaren has struck a sponsorship deal with Google which will see the tech giant’s logo appear on the British racing team’s wheel covers in both Formula 1 and Extreme E championships.

The agreement involves the promotion of Google’s Android and Chrome brands across all of McLaren’s vehicles and team clothing. Its value has not yet been disclosed.

The partnership will also see McLaren use Google 5G technology and devices alongside the Chrome browser during its practice sessions, qualifying and races to support the drivers and team, with a view to improve on-track performance.
