Thinkbox, the marketing body for commercial TV in the UK, has announced the appointment of Elliott Millard as its inaugural chief strategy officer. Millard, currently serving as chief strategy and planning officer at Wavemaker, will assume his new role in 2025.
Millard will report directly to Thinkbox CEO Lindsey Clay and join the organisation’s board. His responsibilities will include evolving the Thinkbox vision and strategic focus and leading the research and planning team.
This newly created position follows a review of the organisation’s future requirements and coincides with the departure of Matt Hill, the current director of research and planning, who moves to Sky Media in January 2025.

“Elliott stood out,” said Clay, “He brings immense strategic and leadership experience, alongside bags of intelligence, creativity, and charm. He’s also been a prolific winner of new business and industry awards, from the Grand Effies and IPA Effectiveness Awards to Cannes Lions.”
Millard added, “I’ve long been an admirer not just of their passion for the industry but specifically of their work and the way they’ve championed TV in all its forms against a backdrop of astonishing change and competition. So I’m super excited to be joining an organisation with their reputation – and one that remains at the heart of advertising effectiveness.”
