Wavemaker UK to launch exclusive ‘Media Essentials Certificate’ programme

Media agency Wavemaker UK has launched the ‘Media Essentials Certificate’, a free training programme available exclusively to its clients.

Aimed primarily at junior members of staff, the 12-module course will cover the foundations of media, from how each channel operates to mastering the art of briefing.

Each module will be delivered live by Wavemaker UK specialists, channel leads and planners in the form of a half-hour lesson enabling users to learn from high-calibre professionals.

“I am absolutely delighted to be launching a one-of-a-kind training course for our clients. Having a shared understanding about how media and marketing work will undoubtedly help us on our mission to deliver unrivalled work that moves people and has a positive impact in the world,” Wavemaker UK CEO, Kelly Parker said.

“This is a unique opportunity for our clients to arm themselves with the knowledge they need to take communications to the next level and unlock transformational growth.”

Coming as part of the agency’s wider ‘Insider’ offering, the course has been created to offer genuine value to clients through access to the latest research, curated events and industry ‘provocations’.

Wavemaker UK head of planning, Elliott Millard added: “Planning is my passion – it’s what I live and breathe every day and I am very excited to welcome our clients onto this programme to talk all things media.”

“In order to deliver unrivalled campaigns, we need to have a mutual understanding about how it all works. And this programme is not only about elevating our collaborative output – our industry’s talent will have this knowledge under their belt as they progress throughout their careers, and that will only be a good thing.”

This latest initiative follows on from Wavemaker’s announcement at the back end of last year that it would ambitiously strive for net zero by 2025 in a bid to align with wider WPP targets.
