M&Ms is partnering with doorbell firm Ring in a Halloween effort to give a frightful welcome across UK doorsteps, from the candy itself.

In a twist on conventional Halloween greetings, those who ring a Ring customer’s doorbell will be asked to respond to a set of challenges as suggested by the spokescandy Red.

They include suggestions like: “Hey it’s Red here, M&Ms spooks-candy. How about a trick for your treat? Let’s see you ride an invisible broomstick like a pro….hahah, you’ve raised my spirits… I’m on my way”

Live throughout October, the campaign is activated by T&Pm, with media booked by EssenceMediacom and PR support from Ketchum.

The joint campaign will be supported by content across paid media, in-store and CRM channels. It will be bolstered by content creator collaborations with a range of influencers.

During the takeover, M&Ms will encourage Ring customers to share responses to the quick replies questions across social media, in an effort to ramp up the partnership.

Mars Wrigley’s head of Halloween Sophie Padt said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Ring to celebrate the playful spirit of Halloween.”

“By adding that fun M&Ms touch to Ring Video Doorbells, we hope to encourage more people to get involved with trick-or-treating traditions whilst creating some entertaining memories along the way.”
