McCann spearheads ‘Fabruary’ campaign to mark LGBTQIA+ History Month

Clear Channel and McCann are joining forces to commemorate one of the biggest LGBTQIA+ celebrations of the year – LGBTQIA History Month.

The ‘Fabruary’ campaign comprises of six posters which feature the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Non-Binary and Progress Pride flags in the background in order to represent the respective communities.

It builds on McCann and Clear Channel’s successful ’16th Century Life Expectancy’ project which marked UK Black Pride.

The ‘Fabruary’ campaign is part of Clear Channel’s Platform For Good project, which has run for the past six years and was run by Ogilvy last year.

As well as spearheading this year’s iteration of the campaign, McCann is part of the UKTruePrideAlliance platform for the LGBTQIA+ platform.

“The weather in February can be dull sometimes, so we’re thrilled to bring some sparkle and magic to this month with our February launch. At Clear Channel, we are all committed to celebrating and supporting the Queer community and strongly believe in using our platform to benefit the communities we serve,” said Clear Channel creative agency director Jason Jarvis.

He added: “We’re especially proud of our creative partnership with McCann London, which has resulted in amazing campaigns such as 16th Century, which challenged misinformation about the transgender community. We’re excited about the launch of the Fabuaury and look forward to future projects in 2024.”

McCann London creative Ben Conway said: “The February campaign marks the beginning of looking at LGBTQIA+ History Month through fresh and fabulous eyes, by framing the month as a time to celebrate and educate ourselves of the fabulous communities that have founded history.”
