Tesco teases 2023 Christmas ad, set to premier this weekend

Tesco is making the most of its position as the final major retailer to be launching its 2023 Christmas advert, giving customers a sneak peek at the campaign before it makes its debut this weekend.

The advert will air for the first time on ITV during the advert break of the first episode of this season’s ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’, starting at 9pm.

Rather than follow in the steps of Asda and John Lewis by releasing a teaser video, Tesco has released a set of stills taken from the ad, which show a range of Christmas-themed scenarios including a generous stack of mince pies and a cheerful Tesco delivery driver.

Titled ‘Become More Christmas’, the supermarket’s latest festive film will show how a trip to Tesco can get people feeling more Christmassy with every shop. The launch of the ad will mark the official start of the retailer’s Christmas campaign, helping encourage people to get into the festive spirit.

Embracing the experiential side of Christmas retail, Tesco is making sure its customers enjoy their shopping experience as much as possible.

Free to visit Santa’s Grottos and Christmas markets will be taking place at over a hundred selected Tesco stores across the country and have already been hugely successful, with most grottos already completely booked out.

Christmas movie nights will be taking place at Cineworld Cinemas all around the country during November and December as a free invite-only experience for select customers, while a partnership with Spotify will give listeners 30 mins of ad-free listening sessions from 6 December, so they can enjoy their favourite music during the Christmas period.

In-store sampling of Christmas classics such mince pies, party food and delicious desserts will also be taking place throughout the season.
