Shelter chooses The PHA Group to deliver Winter Appeal

Housing and homeless charity Shelter has appointed The PHA Group to drive awareness and support in delivering this year’s annual Winter Appeal.

The partnership aims to bolster brand awareness of the charity while aiding fundraising efforts through an impactful and creative campaign.

Not limited to the festive campaign activation and amplification, additional activity will include a supporting press office through consumer media relations, and influencer engagement.

Appointed to affirm Shelter’s position as a trusted charity for information about homelessness, the new partnership follows in the wake of updated figures revealing the extent of the homelessness crisis in the UK.

The charity reports, despite over 271,000 people in England are homeless, there is a ‘concerning level of disconnection’ between this crisis and the public.

“The number of households facing homelessness in England is now the highest on record so we needed to appoint a PR agency to create a campaign that would resonate with a mass awareness and drive action,” said Shelter head of supporter acquisition, Claire Whitney.

“We were impressed with The PHA Group’s creative strategy and understanding of our mission, and are excited to be working with them to deliver such an important message.”

The PHA Group director of consumer, Suzanne Haysler, added: “We are passionate about delivering impactful communication that can positively impact others, so are delighted to be working closely with Shelter to deliver their Christmas campaign.

“Given the severity of the current housing crisis, our goal is to educate and raise awareness of Shelter and its work, while encouraging donations from the public.”

The partnership follows the PR and digital agency appointing Mike Chivers as its new creative director earlier this year.

Last year the charity collaborated with creative agency AMV BBDO for a though-provoking OOH shedding light on the harsh realities of homelessness in the UK.
