Pornhub has promoted a female marketing executive in a bid to help the brand rebound from damming allegations of illegal activity.
Alexzandra Kekesi has been appointed as the adult website’s new head of community and brand after a string of public relations disasters involving publishing revenge porn and child sex abuse.
The allegations led to Pornhub being banned by Instagram for violating the social media site‘s rules against sexual solicitation – a decision Pornhub responded to as unfair, accusing the Meta-owned app of hypocritically “censoring” the porn industry.

Kekesi said she is focused on restoring the brand’s “gold standards when it comes to moderation” and “helping people to really understand what Pornhub is as a brand, what we stand for, what we represent”.
“As soon as there’s someone that’s a little bit more visible in terms of being able to be the one to engage with and it’s not just a faceless company or corporation, it makes it a little more inviting,” Kekesi told the New York Post.
The appointment follows the move by Canadian buyout firm, Ethical Capital Partners, to purchase the adult website’s parent company MindGeek earlier this year.
Key details about the acquisition are still not available to the public, such as how much the transfer cost and who is in charge at MindGeek.
