TikTok renews Wimbledon partnership

Social media network TikTok has partnered with Wimbledon for second year running and has launched a competition to find the next generation of tennis commentators to celebrate the collaboration.

The tournament’s official TikTok account will feature a range of new content, including behind-the-scenes footage. Fans can access the ‘Wimbledon Hub’ for all the latest content from the event and its participants.

Wimbledon will also share the most iconic moments from past matches on its TikTok account, including Steffi Graf vs Venus Williams (1999), Roger Federer vs Pete Sampras (2001), Serena Williams vs Heather Watson (2015) and Venus Williams vs Coco Gauff (2019).

To enter the commentator competition, fans will need to duet select videos from the Wimbledon TikTok account and show off the best commentary skills, using the #GameSetDuet hashtag.

“We are delighted to be teaming up with TikTok for another year. The platform offers a unique opportunity to bring Wimbledon to new audiences in creative and engaging ways, and given the success of our collaboration thus far, we are excited to see what 2023 holds for us on TikTok,” Wimbledon content lead, William Giles said.

The winner will be announced the day after the men’s singles final, and will be given tickets to either the men’s or women’s singles final in 2024.
