Bang & Olufsen creates avatars based on your music choices

Consumer electronics firm Bang & Olufsen has launched a high-tech campaign that sees its brand move into a ‘new world of digital experiences’.

‘See Yourself In Sound’ will enable customers to bring their music taste to life in the form of interactive avatars that uniquely reflect each user’s musical preferences.

A specially designed microsite will allow fans of the brand to link their Spotify account or take a short questionnaire in order to create their bespoke, shareable avatars.

“Our products have been considered the best way to hear music for almost a century – something we’re very proud of. In a world that is centred around digital interaction, creativity and exploring, it was essential to me, that Bang & Olufsen makes a space where our community can visualise their passion for music, alongside process of curating, listening and enjoying it,”  Bang & Olufsen chief marketing officer Kamel Ouadi said.

“We’ve always been a brand that champions self-expression and identity, creating designs that are ahead of the curve and challenge the norm, allowing our community to enjoy music through something that delights and intrigues the senses.”

He continued: “This campaign Is a wonderful embodiment of our brand, which will be expressed both online and in our stores for our customers and fans to enjoy.”

Encapsulating what the retailer is calling ‘Mood, Energy and Groove’, the resultant avatars will match up with users’ tastes exactly.

To drive impressions and awareness, fans will be able to share their results across social media.

Bang & Olufsen creative director Paul Collins added: “Music isn’t something we just listen to, it’s something we feel. It expresses who we are and who we connect with. The feeling of listening to music that you truly love can transport you to another world, and we wanted to visualise that world with See Yourself in Sound”.

Luxury electronics manufacturer had recently partnered with Ferrari’s F1 team ahead of the 2023 season.
