BrewDog partners with LGBTQ+ charity MindOut to launch limited-edition lager

BrewDog has partnered with LGBTQ+ charity, MindOut, to release a limited-edition Pride lager to help raise awareness of the charity’s mental health services.

The collaboration with the Brighton-based charity aims to highlight both BrewDog’s commitment to creating an inclusive culture, and to shine a light on MindOut’s full range of support services.

MindOut is a mental health service run by and for LGBTQ+ people with experience of mental health challenges, and offers both online and in-person support for the queer community.

The beer brand has announced that 50p from each sale of the limited edition 4.5% guava-infused pride month lager will go directly to the charity.

In addition, BrewDog will also be donating 100% of the sales from its pronoun pin-badges and Pride T-shirts to further support MindOut’s mission to improve the mental health of the LGBTQ+ communities.

The collaboration follows a forum the beer brand held with MindOut, where LGBTQ+ employees and charity representatives were able to come together and discuss the challenges and joys they experience in their community.

“We are thrilled BrewDog has chosen to support MindOut LGBTQ Mental Health Service. We work hard to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ communities and it’s been wonderful hearing more from the LGBTQ staff at BrewDog as part of our partnership.” said MindOut interim CEO, Erica Thornton.

She added, “The generous donations from BrewDog will help to fund these hugely important chat services, and continue our work creating a world where the mental health of LGBTQ communities is a priority, free from stigma, respected and recognised.”

BrewDog chief marketing officer, Lauren Carrol, commented: “We’re not perfect, but we’re committed to making BrewDog a great place to work, and to support LGBTQ communities that many of our employees and customers are a part of.

“Through our partnership with MindOut, we are delighted to support the fantastic work they do in Brighton and beyond. We take inspiration from the work they do as we continue to evolve and develop our DE&I policies to make sure every BrewDog employee and customer feels welcome, safe, and included in our spaces all year round.”
