WhatsApp showcases its privacy features in brand’s latest ad

WhatsApp has unveiled its ‘Your privacy, more protected’ campaign in a bid to showcase the various layers of protection the brand provides for its users.

Created in partnership with BBDO San Francisco, the UK campaign film physically embodies the notion of privacy when messaging. In the spot, a man and woman can be seen strolling through a city messaging as shutter windows begin to close around them.

Earlier this month, the messaging app announced three new privacy-focused features including the act of leaving group-chats ‘silently’, controlling who can see when you are online and screenshot blocking. The advertisement centres around all of these new updates.

“We’re excited to introduce our global campaign, a continuation of our Message Privately narrative from last year, to highlight the multiple ways we defend privacy so users can feel free and confident with their messages,” WhatsApp global head of brand, Vivian Odior, said.

“Timed to coincide with the introduction of three new features on WhatsApp, this campaign shows how WhatsApp’s features provide interlocking layers of protection and give users full control over the level of privacy they are seeking. In this film, we wanted to reveal the closeness that’s possible on WhatsApp when you can message confidently and worry-free in a secure space.”

The campaign will also roll out via social, digital, cinema and OOH platforms.
