Kind Snacks installs ‘Grab and Go’ billboard outside King’s Cross Station

Mars-owned Kind Snacks has launched a health-conscious activation at London’s King’s Cross station, allowing members of the public to select fresh fruit and Kind snack bars from an innovative pickable ‘grab and go’ billboard.

Spanning over 4 metres in length and 3 metres in height, Kind’s grab and go billboard will feature over 500 items of fruit including pears, bananas and peppers alongside Kind snack bars. The installation will be in place from 7AM till 7PM.

Kind’s billboard was launched after research carried out by the firm indicated that only 13% of Britons consumed the recommended handful of nuts per day as part of a healthy diet. The project’s overarching intent is to show consumers that nuts can be considered as a viable nutritious, health-conscious snacking option, on par with fruit and veg.

“At Kind we have long been advocating the nutritional benefits of nuts but our research has revealed that the majority of people aren’t consuming their recommended daily intake,” Kind Snacks UK head of marketing, Audrey Arbeeny said.

“Our Grab and Go billboard demonstrated in a simple, engaging moment that nuts shouldn’t be left by the way-side when it comes to conversations about nutrition. In fact they should be elevated on a par with other nutritious, whole foods such as fruits and vegetables.”

She added: “It has been great seeing the reaction to the billboard with thousands of consumers coming up to take away free fresh fruit and KIND bars.  Many had no idea about the nutritional value of nuts so it has been a great educational and sampling opportunity combined in one.”

“Kind’s Grab and Go billboard is just one part of the brand’s mission to encourage the nation to add more nutritious foods to their diets.”
