Dame Deborah James partners with In The Style

Ecommerce fashion retailer In The Style has partnered with Dame Deborah James and her Bowelbabe Cancer Fund for a charity-focused apparel collaboration.

The collaboration has been in development for several months, and is set to be kicked off with the release of Dame Deborah’s ‘Rebellious Hope’ t-shirt, with all profits made on the clothing line going directly to The Bowelbabe Fund, which raises funds for Cancer Research UK.

After the launch event for the Rebellious Hope charity t-shirt, the full clothing line will be made available to the public via the retailer’s website. In The Style confirmed that Dame Deborah personally had a hand in designing every item in the collection.

The Bowelbabe Fund was set up earlier this month as Dam Deborah decided to end her cancer treatment and begin receiving hospice care, and less than a week after being set up had already raised over £6 million. Proceeds from the fund will clinical trials and research into new treatment options for cancer patients, whilst also raising awareness of bowel cancer.

This is the latest in a line of charitable collaborations for the fashion brand, which has also raised over £1 million for charities such as The Samaritans, Family Action and Age UK through the release of other special edition clothing lines.

“The reason why I wanted to do this collection with In The Style is because it has been something totally different to cancer for me,” Dame Deborah James said.

“When we started work on this collection, I didn’t realise that I’d be living a hybrid life between home and hospital, and even from hospital, we’ve made this happen.

She concluded: “It has been a project that I have really enjoyed, and above all, it has given me something else to think about.”

In The Style founder & chief brand officer Adam Frisby added: “The team at In The Style have done everything they can to ensure Dame Deborah could see the release of this range, and I’m so incredibly proud of what she has created and everything it stands for.

“We hope the proceeds raised by this collection can provide valuable support to the Bowelbabe Fund and Cancer Research UK to help others going through a similar journey.”
