With Brit Pop band Oasis back on stage and alcoholic lemonade Hooch unveiling a new ad campaign – you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s the 1990s again.
In fact, from fashion trends such as the scrunchie and the resurgence in popularity of toys such as the Tamagotchi, the 90’s has never been more popular.
Nostalgia for the period has been at an all-time high.
So, with that in mind, for this week’s Absolute Best, we are time-traveling back to the nineties and looking at some of the best marketing pieces to come out of the period.
Levi’s
Kicking off this week’s Absolute Best, is this fun ad from fashion brand Levi’s.
It is soundtracked by the tune Boombastic Song by Shaggy, which is facing a bit of resurgence thanks to its popularity on TikTok.
Nike
Next up is this offering from Nike, promoting the 1998 football World Cup in France.
It features a cameo from French footballer Eric Cantona.

Tango
The third advert on this week’s list is from beverage brand Tango.
It follows an orange man (no, not that orange man) running around slapping people in an effort to mimic the effects of the drink.
Boddingtons
Our next entry is from beer brand Boddingtons.
It transports the viewer from Venice to Manchester. I know where I’d rather be.
Renault Clio
Our last offering this week is from Renault, promoting its Clio range.
It stars French actress Estelle Skornik as Nicole.
The Nicole and Papa adverts ran for multiple years during the 90’s and the platform was brought back in 2022.
