Farrant joins the grocer from BP, where she was chief marketing officer/vice president of mobility and convenience Europe for two years. Prior to BP, she spent eight years as marketing director at Lidl and held numerous positions at Tesco.
“Claire has an outstanding record in UK grocery and her deep experience, clear customer focus and proven strategic marketing skills will make her a valuable new addition to our senior team,” said Rami Baitiéh, Morrison’s CEO.
“I look forward to welcoming Claire to Morrisons in early June. “I would also like to thank Rachel for her contribution to Morrisons over several years and wish her the very best for the future.”
Morrisons was founded in 1899 as an egg and butter stall in Bradford. It has since expanded into the UK’s fourth-largest supermarket chain. As well as 497 supermarkets, the chain has opened 1,600 Daily convenience stores, of which 600 are franchise stores.
