The University of Law (ULaw) – the largest provider of legal education in the UK – has appointed Havas Media UK as its new agency of record following a competitive pitch.
Havas Media will handle ULaw’s strategic media planning and buying across all media channels, for both the UK and international markets. It does not include affiliate marketing.
The agency will be utilising its suite of data, tech and analytics tools and services solutions to help ULaw reach potential students looking to enrol in the university’s wide portfolio of courses.
The partnership will begin immediately, with the first piece of work set to be this year’s clearing campaign.
“As an agency, our philosophy is that brands that mean more have an edge,” said the agency’s managing director Ailsa Buckley.

“ULaw’s critical role in shaping and upholding our democracy requires the very best talent to pass through its halls, meaning we need to build the brand through trusty, influential, and engaging environments,” she continued.
“We are excited to kick off straight away with a brilliant clearing brief that’ll help students up and down the country realise their dreams.”
ULaw marketing director Dominic Cohen said the university had been “looking for a media partner that would be able to understand the ever-changing motivations of students”.
Havas Media UK will be using its proprietary cookieless marketing solution, Converged, giving ULaw access to over 35,000 audience insights from the geographic, demographic, attitudinal, behavioural, purchasing and consumption data of over half a million individuals.
“With thousands of students passing through our institution each year, and many more potential students to reach, audience insight is critical,” Cohen continued.
“In that context, Havas Media UK’s Converged solution provides about the most comprehensive view of prospective students in the market. The agency share our ambitious growth plans and we’re really excited to see what we can achieve together.”
The University of Law is one of the longest-established specialist providers of legal education in the UK.
