Supermarket Waitrose has launched 665 products for Christmas, including 267 new items.

Among its “first to market innovation” is No.1 Golden Mince Pies with Limoncello and No.1 Stuffed Scottish Salmon with Prawns & Salsa Verde Drizzle.

The new offerings have been “developed in line with the latest food and drink trends”, said the retailer. Featuring 267 new, trend-driven products across in-store, entertaining and hamper selections.

“With searches on Waitrose.com for ‘Christmas’ soaring 536% in the last month, it’s clear our customers are already thinking about their festive menus,” said a statement from Waitrose.

The new range represents an almost 50% increase in innovation compared to last year.

And Samantha Angell, head of innovation at Waitrose, said: “This year, we’ve curated the perfect collection to help every food lover craft truly special Christmas moments.

“Featuring everything from showstopping centrepieces and nostalgic party bites, to the ultimate gifting range, decadent sweet treats, and trend-driven festive tipples, we hope our customers love the range just as much as we do.”

The Christmas offering will be available to order from 24 September.
