Creative and strategy agency BMB’s chief executive Jason Cobbold is set to leave the business at the end of this week after to close to seven years in post.

First reported by Campaign, Cobbold’s departure leaves the Cheil-owned agency temporarily without a CEO, with the management team set to oversee his responsibilities in the interim.

Having joined the agency in 2018, Cobbold has overseen a period of successful expansion for the London-based outfit, winning business from the likes of Kerry Foods, Rana, Farrow & Ball, Bonne Maman and Allianz.

“Leading BMB has been a real privilege. I’m happy to have worked with some truly brilliant clients during my time. But I’m just as proud to have found and developed some very special BMB talent,” said Cobbold.

“From the moment the shop opened its doors all those years ago, BMB has occupied a unique space in the hearts and minds of industry and clients alike. I’m thrilled to have taken this special culture through its most recent chapter, and I look forward to watching it thrive in the future.”

Due to announce his next move in September, Cobbold has combined his day-to-day role with his duties as a council member at the IPA and as chairman of GB Snowsport.

Minsoo Kee, president of Cheil Europe, added: “We would like to thank Jason for his vision and leadership of BMB over the last few years, and for his significant contribution to our wider group.

“Jason will be missed by all, but he leaves a strong and passionate team at the helm ready for the next period of growth.”
