Broadcaster and media giant ITV has appointed EssenceMediacom as its media buying and planning agency at the conclusion of a closed pitch process, according to Campaign.
The move sees the WPP-owned firm pick up the account that had been held by its disbanded sister agency EssenceMediacomX, which was dissolved last year.
In light of this, ITV chose to undertake a closed process with EssenceMediacom overseen by MediaSense, with the pitch covering commercials, strategic planning, resource, data, tech and tools.
“We are excited to be working with EssenceMediacom as part of this fresh partnership,” said Jane Stiller, chief viewer officer at ITV.

“They have demonstrated a great understanding of our business and ambition for our brand, and we are looking forward to bringing this to life for our viewers as we continue to keep ITV at the forefront of shaping British culture.”
EssenceMediacom’s new contract with the broadcaster will reportedly be a three-year deal and marks the first account to have been secured publicly by the agency since Natalie Cummins was made CEO late last year.
Cummins added: “We are stoked to be working with the national jewel that is the ITV brand. Our focus is on helping ITV win in streaming hours and monthly average users, through fresh breakthrough thinking and a fresh partnership. We are bursting with ideas and vim for the task.”
