Supermarket chain Waitrose has added eight new products to its Cook’s Ingredients Range inspired by TikTok Trends.
The new products include Korean-inspired bibimbap sauce, hot honey gochujang, salt and pepper seasoning, sriracha sprinkle, tomato miso paste, tom yum paste, Moroccan-style falafel mix and Sri Lankan style curry paste.
The new products tap into social media trends such as the current trend for Japanese and Korean cuisine.
This comes after the retailer saw sales of black garlic paste rise by 31% and sales of gochujang paste rise by 27%.

Emilie Wolfman, trends manager at Waitrose, said: “We know that Korean cuisines have sparked customer interest as they experiment with fermented and umami flavours, meaning that our new Cooks’ Ingredients Korean Inspired Bibimbap Sauce and Cooks’ Ingredients Hot Honey Gochujang will be a perfect addition to any food lover’s pantry.”
The supermarket reported hot and spicy products were proving popular with consumers with searches for sriracha mayo and sriracha sauce up by 105% and 28% respectively.
Sarah Lourence, Cooks’ Ingredients product developer at Waitrose, added: “We know that our customers love to cook good food at home, and we are seeing more of them looking to recreate recipes from trips abroad. Sometimes it can be quite a challenge to find the more niche ingredients in supermarkets, so we have made sure to include those cuisine staples in our Cooks’ Ingredients range.
“With these new additions, we’ve allowed our customers to really elevate their recipes and recreate those iconic meals that they are craving. Whether it is a Thai Tom Yum soup, or a Sri Lankan Curry, our customers will be able to find those ingredients in Waitrose.”
