Alcohol Change UK has announced its first-ever headline partner and a roster of official partners for its 2025 Dry January challenge.
Online therapy provider BetterHelp is backing the campaign as its inaugural headline partner, alongside several leading no- and low-alcohol drinks brands including Lucky Saint, Lyres, DASH Water and TRIP Drinks.
The campaign aims to help more people worldwide unlock the health and wellbeing benefits of taking a break from alcohol, off the back of the usually booze-heavy festive season.
In the last five years alone, the number of people planning an alcohol-free January has more than doubled, rising from 4.2 million in 2019 to 8.5 million in 2024.
Alcohol Change UK’s research suggests that participants who take on the Dry January challenge with the tools and resources it provides, are twice as likely to have a successful alcohol-free month compared with those attempting it on their own.
Moreover, 70% of participants are still drinking less alcohol six months later, experiencing improved wellbeing and reduced alcohol-related health risks long-term.

To help participants have a successful 31-day alcohol-free experience, Alcohol Change UK offers a collection of tools and resources, including the free Try Dry app, daily coaching emails and an online peer-to-peer community.
“The New Year offers all of us an opportunity to set our goals for the 12 months ahead. Increasingly for many, this includes a desire to improve our relationship with alcohol,” said Dr Richard Piper, CEO of Alcohol Change UK.
“That’s because there is a growing recognition of alcohol’s impact on our health, wellbeing and quality of life – from headaches, sleepless nights and feeling ‘off’ the next day, to high blood pressure, anxiety, and cancer. These wide-ranging impacts affect so many of us.”
“We believe the greatest reward of drinking is the social connection, not the alcohol,” added Luke Boase, founder of Lucky Saint, “That doesn’t change in January – people still want to socialise, have fun and enjoy a beer with their family and friends.”
