In a fresh stunt, Greggs has joined forces with challenger bank Monzo to create a sausage roll dispensing cash machine in its city of origin, Newcastle.

Located on Grainger Street and designated a “pop up ATMmm”, the tie-up celebrates the high street baker’s new partnership with the digital banking app.

As part of the ongoing partnership Monzo Perks and Max subscribers will be entitled to a free weekly sausage roll, doughnut or hot drink from the retailer.

Live yesterday (18 July), users didn’t even need their PIN number to claim a free pastry.

It’s not the first time Greggs has used collaborations to its advantage — from tie-ups with Primark, to an effort at a finer style of dining with Bistro Greggs at fellow Geordie retail icon Fenwick.
