Mother Design has poached its first-ever head of strategy from sportswear giant Nike, with Sam Belt joining the agency from her director of strategy

Mother Design has poached its first-ever head of strategy from sportswear giant Nike, with Sam Belt joining the agency from her director of strategy, global key cities role.

In her new role at the London-based outfit, Belt will be tasked with overseeing the strategy team and leading the existing client portfolio, as well as driving new business and agency development efforts. She will additionally be entrusted with spearheading thought leadership and proprietary research initiatives.

Reporting into partners Kirsty Minns and Kathryn Jubrail, Belt will be based in London.

“After searching for the right person to be our first head of strategy, we finally met Sam, and she’s fantastic. With incredible experience working on brands the world truly loves—from Nike to IKEA—Sam’s leadership in brand, design, and experience is exactly what we need,” Mother Design partner and ECD, Kirsty Minns said.

Belt spent over two years at Nike, where she helped develop the US brand’s ‘Key Cities Strategy’ with her remit spanning a vast range of areas including business and brand activation.
