Pepsi ad brings Jack Grealish and Vinicius Jr to London

Pepsi Max has recruited a slew of global footballing superstars for the latest activation in its long-running ‘Thirsty for More’ brand platform, bringing the ultimate ‘keepy-uppy’ challenge to London’s streets.

‘Where There’s A Ball There’s A Way’ sees Manchester City star Jack Grealish appear in his first campaign for the soft drinks brand.

Grealish stars in the ad alongside Tottenham’s Heung-min Son, Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. and Arsenal’s Leah Williamson, as they come together to take part in the ‘ultimate game of street football.’

Forming part of Pepsi Max’s sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League, the clip is set on Wembley Stadium’s iconic steps as its prepares to host European football’s showpiece match on 1 June.

“Being thirsty for more – Pepsi Max’s philosophy – means feeling that wherever there is a ball, there is an opportunity to find new and unexpected ways to find enjoyment through the game,” said Pepsi VP of global marketing carbonated soft drinks, Eric Melis.

“Whether you’re playing on the biggest stages in the world or on city streets, there’s an opportunity to unlock the enjoyment that it brings.”

Melis went on to outline that the film is just the first chapter in Pepsi’s ‘Where There’s A Ball There’s A Way’ campaign as the brand looks to engage with the footballing community, highlighting any barriers to access to the sport.

“All you need is a football, the right attitude and you’ve got yourself a game,” he says, adding that Pepsi has “big plans for the rest of the year”, both within football itself and the wider culture around the game.

The clips also sees former player turned broadcaster Karen Carney join in on the action, alongside former Wimbledon and Chelsea star turned Hollywood legend Vinnie Jones relishing his role as the pantomime villain.
