Solo Stove and mirrors: Snoop Dogg gives up ‘smoke’ in viral ad campaign

Provoking noise on social media, Snoop Dogg appeared to have announced he is giving up smoking, but continues the habit, after the video turned out to be a campaign for Solo Stove smokeless firepit.

“I know what you’re thinking: Snoop! Smoke is kind of your whole thing. But I’m done with it,” Snoop Dogg, who is known for his marijuana use, said in an a video posted on X, formerly known as  twitter.

“I’m done with coughing and my clothes smelling all sticky icky. I’m going smokeless,” he continued.

In a seasonal touch to the campaign, Snoop Dogg appears to be roasting marshmallows atop the fire pit and says, “Solo Stove fixed fire. They take out the smoke. Clever.”

It comes as Snoop Dogg is set to partner with the company on smokeless product innovation, contributing to designing a new signature line of Snoop DoggxSmokeless Stove products, with a limited edition bundle including a Bonfire Fire Pit designed by Snoop, a bucket hat and a SnoopxSolo starter pack.

Commenting on the post, some were unsurprised at the stunt:“I guess we already knew it was all a fluke when you wrote that you’re giving up ‘smoke’ and not ‘smoking’ haha,” wrote one commentator.

Another wrote: “Sounds like a joint effort”.
