Taco Bell UK says ‘See You Next Tuesday’ in cheeky out-of-home campaign

Taco Bell UK is looking to bring a new meaning to the traditionally uncouth expression “See You Next Tuesday” with a firmly tongue-in-cheek out-of-home and social campaign.

The creative invites the nation to partake in the restaurant chain’s Taco Tuesday deal, which offers customers a taco and a drink for £2. Developed by Mother London-owned The Or, the campaign will run UK-wide.

Out-of-home assets supporting the campaign will be visible across key cities such as London, Leeds, Edinburgh and Birmingham. Additional social media executions will also run to amplify the creative.

“Life can throw all sorts of curveballs at you and we all deserve something to look forward to. The Or have perfectly grasped this through the lens of British humour, creating an eye-catching campaign that frames Taco Tuesday as a weekly highlight and unmissable pick me up,” Taco Bell UK head of marketing, Lucy Dee said.

The campaign follows on from Taco Bell’s first-ever Christmas TV ad, which resulted in a madcap collaboration with comedy YouTuber Any0nymooose.

The Or executive creative director, Dan Morris added: “The incredible offer of a £2 taco and drink in this economy is almost guaranteed to become a landmark weekly moment.

“In fact, it’s so powerful that Brits may even start using ‘See You Next Tuesday’ as a way to describe the uplifting spa day for your soul that bargain tacos give you, rather than to hint at a certain offensive slur. Hopefully.”
