Sky Sports is celebrating the fast-approaching start to the 2023-24 football season with a mesmerising circus-themed ad that brings together some of the game’s biggest stars.
Named ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’, the 90-second clip was developed by the media giant’s in-house agency Sky Creative and features an impressive cast of sporting a-listers, including Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Ella Toone, Lauren James, Lewis Hamilton, Ben Stokes, Emma Raducanu, Jon Rahm with a cameo from Hollywood star Idris Elba as the ringmaster.
Supported by 60, 40 and 10-second edits, the film will spearhead an integrated campaign running across TV, social, digital, out-of-home, print, radio, cinema and influencer activity.

With this campaign, we want to celebrate that and dramatise the incredible athletes’ abilities with a visually spectacular campaign. This start of season campaign is like no other and we can’t wait for the amazing year of sport ahead for our customers to enjoy,” Sky Sports director of marketing, Dave Stratton said.
With media planning and buying handled by EssenceMediacom, the creative looks to highlight the drama of live sport by showing the athleticism of professional sportspeople outside of their usual environments.
Sky Creative group executive creative director of advertising, Robin Garton added: “The idea of a circus enabled us to show the skills of our sports stars in a way that they’ve never been seen before. But it also opened up a wonderful world of design, tone, style and language, that we’ve revelled in right across the TTL campaign. It’s been an amazing playground for creative craft.”
