Stella Artois ad raises a glass to creating connections around the dinner table

Stella Artois has unveiled its latest campaign ‘Table drop’ in a bid to celebrate the way in which the beer brand brings people together.

The brand’s biggest promotion in over five years opens with a young woman about to sit down and enjoy a meal with a pint of Stella Artois.

Suddenly, however, the floor falls through and the solitary woman is joined by another man eating at his dinner table alone.

Throughout the duration of the ad, the number of people joining the once lonely dinner table increases as the beer-wielding group crash through floor after floor.

The campaign is the latest promotion included in the brand’s platform ‘Make time for the life Artois’.

“One of the trends we saw growing in the US was consumers eating alone more and more – especially at dinnertime. It’s kind of sad when you think about it,” Stella Artois vice president Marcela Garcia, told The Drum. “We’re about fostering connections, and with this campaign, we’re inviting consumers to create authentic connections around the dinner table.”

Garcia also added: “African American, Hispanic and Asian cultures are driving trends in our world today, so with this campaign, we want to show representation – not in a cliché way – but in a way that’s stylish and fun.”
